Christopher,

As I'm pretty new to SF as well ( just moved in about 6 wks ago) I'm
probably not the best source for this information, but I've found a couple
of nice spots.

Most of the clubs that I've found are more traditional jazz than acid,
there's a lot of great clubs for that, like for instance boom boom club,
rassellas...like you said, millions of them...

Elbow room is a pretty good hangout as well, they have some good live bands
every now and then and the music that they're playing downstairs is usually
excellent.

I've really just followed the bands, rather than the bars, like the other
week I went to see Liquid Soul, which was excellent, they were playing at
Slim's. The club itself is pretty neat, too.

If you come across any good clubs yourself, please let me know, since I'm
not an expert of SF yet myself.

Cheers,

/Pekka
