This week’s new releases and restocks list is now posted on our website
    (http://www.groovedis.com).

First off, we are happy to announce our 1 Year Anniversary Party taking
place next Sunday night, April 9 here in Chicago at Big Wig. In addition to
celebrating our first year in business we are also celebrating the release
of our first free CD Sampler along with the release of our first two
records: The NeoLounge EP by Norway’s Sternklang and a new EP from Chicago
rapper E.C. Illa. The party is sponsored by Jose Cuervo and they’ll be Jose
Cuervo drink specials all night long. Plus all our V.I.P. members drink free
from 8:30-10 PM (be sure to bring your V.I.P. Membership card!). The bash
will feature the skills of several Groove Dis employees on the wheels o’
steel all night. DJ Verb, Riverman, Joe Schmoe, Poppa Hopp (from the Dirty
Birds) and Dirk V will all be spinning a mix of hip hop, trip hop, breaks
and drum & bass. It’s gonna be a blast so please try and come by.

    Groove Dis 1 Year Anniversary/Record Release Party, Sun, April 9, 8:30- 2AM
(OPEN BAR with V.I.P. card from 8:30-10PM), at Big Wig, 1551 W. Division,
    Chicago.

The Groove Dis CD sampler is now finished. We gave away a few (about 500)
free copies down at the Winter Music Conference and the response has been
great. A free copy of the CD sampler will be included in all mail orders
(while supplies last). We will also be distributing it via the retail stores
we work with across the country. I think once you here it you’ll want to
pick up all the records featured on it. To help you do exactly that, we will
be posting a selected discography of all the artists featured on the
sampler. Our two new records by Sternklang and E.C. Illa will both be
    released next week.

Lastly, remember the Groove Dis bulletin board (found under Forums) is now
in effect on our website. It gives all our members and customers a forum to
ask questions, talk about music and find out about upcoming releases. CHECK
IT OUT AND MEET THE GROOVE DIS CREW.

    Highlights This Week (04/03/2000):

Acid Jazz/Leftfield/Trip-Hop: New 12” from BLOWPIPE reportedly getting mad
airplay by Gilles Peterson, a hard to find new single from MR. BIRD,
finished copies of the new ST. ETIENNE 12” (and a few copies of the promo
with AIM remix back in), new mini-album from SWAYZAK, the new CLOUDWATCH
compilation from SOUL SONIC in Baltimore, and the JAZZLAND REMIXED album
(along with the BUGGE WESSELTOFT albums on JAZZLAND). Plus restocks on
    everything on COMET.

Big Beat/Breakbeat/Nu Skool Breaks: New DARK GLOBE 12”, new DAVID HOLMES
promo 12”, and restocks on the entire REX RECORDS catalog.

Drum & Bass: New DJ KRUST triple 12” on Talkin’ Loud, “Flip Da Script” by
Matrix (or possibly just remixed by Matrix), and a brand new jazzy jungle
single from PESHAY (with a way cool Jazzanova-styled downtempo b-side).

Hip-hop: New breaks and beats album from DJ JUNK (BREAKERS BREAKS VOL.4) and
the latest single from DECKWRECKA on RONIN.

House: New promo 12” from BUSCEMI, more Swedish house from HAKAN LIBDO,
limited edition double 12” from INTERFEARANCE, new MAURICE FULTON 12”, and
the new VOYAGE compilation featuring early house classics put together by
    JOEY NEGRO.

Other/House Not House: New NUBIAN MINDZ EP on ARCHIVE and the awesome new
    SEIJI 12” on 2000 BLACK.

And on a personal note, it was very nice to finally meet some of you in
person down in Miami. I had a blast. And Raw Deal is da man!
