I highly recommend both volume 1 and 2 of the Rare Groove series.. I can't
tell you how many times I've listened to both of these discs.. One of my
favourite tracks is included on volume 1, "Why I Came to California" by Leon
Ware, as well as a bunch of other killer tracks (Turned On To You, Riding
High, Good Love, So Different, etc). Volume 2 is even better, with the
monstrous Tommy Stewart Bump and Hustle Music track, God Made Me Funky, and
    the classic "LA Nights"..

    > Various - INCredible Sound Of Giles Peterson

Joni Cat already gave you the lowdown on this.. Gilles throws down this
eclectic mixture of tunes in fine fashion..

    > Various - Jazz Spectrum 2: Real Jazz For Real People

Just picked this up recently and can't listen to it enough.. MUCH better
than volume 1, full of souljazz, jazz funk, brazilian jazz, dancefloor jazz
    and other jazzy delights..

    > Various -- Soul Spectrum Volume 2

This is still on my want list since I've been unable to pick it up, but I
have listened to it and I liked what I heard, but I'd have to give it a more
in depth listen.. It sounded similar to Volume 1, which I really enjoyed..

    > Various - Strange Games & Things 1 and 2

Both of these comps are great.. If you enjoy the rare groove sound, get
    them.

    > Various -- Trojan Rare Groove Box Set

Never heard of this, but it sounds interesting.. What label is it on? Where
    did you hear about it?
