    Nah, "makossa" was a style of Cameroonian music-- apparently, "Soul
    Makossa" isn't really strictly much of a makossa; still, I'd be
    interested in hearing more, so if you come up w/any good tipoffs
    please post 'em.

    I've gotten one volume of that Guinean "Discotheque 70s" series,
    _72_, which has some pretty great moments, the strongest/strangest
    cut being Pivi et les Baladins' "Samba" (also, ahem, not a samba).
    Would love to hear anyone else's experience w/this series, as there's
    no shortage of volumes to choose from. Or any recommendations for
    electric African dance music from the early 70's--
