I dont know about any books or publications offhand, but if you want to
dig into the roots of dance music production, I highly recommend you read
everything you can about Dub production (and there is a lot out there)
Dub music production really laid the groundwork for modern dance music
production. Lee Perry, Scientist, King Tubby, Prince Jammy....
