    For thislistiness, I'd go w/the late 60's/70's Atlantic stuff:

    _The Diverse Yusef Lateef_ ('69, has the much-comped "Live Humble")
    _The Gentle Giant_ ('72, feat. "Nubian Lady")
    _The Doctor is In... And Out_ ('76; more experimental, has Arp & this great
    # where he plays over a 30's song)
    And on CTI, _Autophysiopsychic_ ('77)

    But it's hard to go wrong w/anything Yusef recorded from that period to his
    beginnings.
