I hope you're all keeping well throughout the many holiday celebrations,
and are getting to spend time with people you care about. Forget the
hype; this darn cold holiday season should be about good time spent with
good people, whether over dinners, in homes, clubs, or wherever makes
you happy. I'm gonna add a few club-related suggestions to your list....
First though, thanks to all who've been coming out to the various gigs
'n events I've been organizing and/or playing at. The dZihan & Kamien
gig was busy and full of love and dancing bodies despite the snowstorm
that consumed the city that day. Those boys truly turned out loads of
quality mid-tempo gems! Playing the 52 Inc. and Garage 416 holiday
bashes at Roxy Blu was also much fun. And our Glide Wednesdays at Gypsy
Co-op have been super-packed and mighty jolly over the last little
while...Andrew and I are loving the vibe. Thanks to all who support!
On the writing tip, be sure to check the year-end issue of Eye weekly,
out on the streets now. I've listed fave albums, compilations, singles
and gigs from the year in Extended Play, and give you the heads up on
non-New Year's related jams over this week in Beats Per Week. There's
also an online New Year's Guide for those still deciding what to do on

Divinity and I are at it again! In the tradition of nights like Thirst
and S!H!E!, we're hosting a women's pre-New Year's celebration. Savour
the Flavour as we bring you an intimate session in the fun, funky B-Side
dancebar. Nikki Red and I will be mixing up nu jazz, deep house, r&b,
reggae, and soulful grooves while JD holds court. All women, trans
people and our friends are welcome.

I've said it before: I looove playing the 52 Inc jams 'cause the crowds
are always sweet, friendly and open to new sounds! This time 'round, the
52 gals take their trademark good vibes to a much larger venue, and
throw an underground styled jam in the infamous Warehouse space (newly
decorated with added couches, chairs, curtains, nooks 'n crannies).
We're all totally hyped about this one!
Expect familiar faces, party favours, dj countdowns, breakfast,
champagne and soulful garage, rare groove, funk and straight-up house
music to introduce 2001 with style. Tickets are $45 and include entrance
to THE ENTIRE GUVERNMENT COMPLEX: six separate parties in six separate
rooms with djs Mark Oliver, James K. and David White. Tickets via
