I started with "The Gentle Giant" and never regretted it. Try also "The Man
With the Big Front Yard", a 3-disc set (32 Jazz/Rhino 32059), which has some
standout downtempo stuff ("Opus Pt. II", "Hellbound"), some funky bits
("Mushmouth"), and some downright oddities ("In a Little Spanish Town",
where he soloes over an old Ink Spots recording).
