erm, okay.. i'm 26m currently based between cheltenham and guildford in the
uk. been on the list on'n'off for 3-4 years. got into jazz when i was 13
when stan tracey's big band played at my school. immediately took up tenor
sax and went on to study jazz @ wac (school of courtney pine, steve
williamson, carleen anderson, etc.) and @ the royal academy.
first experienced "acid jazz" around '89 @ camden lock's dingwalls where
gilles peterson was spinning with jtq playing live. bought myself a pair of
decks and never looked back. got into the house scene, particularly the
baleric and soulful sounds, while getting deeply into jazz and fusion.
i dj and promote a couple of nights at a club called subtone. i'm into all
sorts of music, especially stuff with a jazz/soulful edge. very much into
deep house, particularly jazz-influenced nyc underground and west london
sounds. recently getting into more "world" influences like african and
brazilian stuff.
i currently play in a live funk/house fusion band and have a couple of
studio projects on the go that hopefully you'll hear real soon now...
