ok, got it. so even London now has it's own East/West beef going on. :-)

As I said ... I haven't heard much of the 2-step stuff, but some of it
sounded alright to me ... funky in a jittery kinda way, doing some
interesting fx things to the vocals, and bringing some nice sub-bass action
along for the ride (Dem 2 or Antonio, say). Some of it sounded like it
was done-by-the-numbers too... and I'm sure this characterises a lot of
what's coming out. So it felt to me a little like contemporary r'n'b ...
in the sense that it's mostly garbage, but there are some folks involved
who are trying to bring some Prince-inspired shit into this century.

and speaking of MJ Cole ... a new full length is due from him soon which
sould be interesting. It's gonna be on Talkin Loud, and (not surprisingly)
Gilles P has been playing the hell out of the downtempo track "I see" on
his radio show ... sounds very nice.
