2) Who are you?
INSTINCT RECORDS was founded in 1989 and has grown into America's

catalog includes INSTINCT's award winning THIS IS ACID JAZZ and
INSTINCT JAZZ artists and compilations, SHADOW RECORDS (america's
premier source for the best trip hop, drum & bass, and electronica
from around the globe), SONIC RECORDS (from the grand old days of
techno!) KICKIN RECORDS USA (Bringin you the best in Jungle and
Drum'n'Bass since 1991!) FAX USA (ambient from Germany's top pioneers)
BACK TO BASICS (classic soul and funk) and of course America's
finest roster of electronic talent on the INSTINCT AMBIENT imprint.
SHADOW RECORDS, founded in 1994, is America's only. home grown, abstrakt
electronica source and the label that introduced DJ Krush, DJ Cam, and
Ninjatune to America. As of January 1997, Ninjatune has opened it's own US
offices
and will not be issuing new releases through Shadow. Shadow will
continue to be the exclusive source for the pre-97 catalog. For the
new stuff... you will have to look elsewhere.
3) I can't find your records at my store, can I order direct?

4) I don't live in America.. how can I find out what's new and how can I
order?
We hope we can keep in touch with you with our Email newsletter.
Meanwhile, please use an internet based music store which accepts credit
cards and ships worldwide!
5) How can I find out about your new releases
We do send out an Email newsletter every 3 months or
so. Just ask, and we'll add you to the list.
6) Do you have an Internet Web-Site?
No... not yet... It would be fun though! Ah well, will just dream on!
As always.. it's a question of time and money... two things in short
supply on the indy label scene!
7) I am a musician and have a tape Instinct should
listen to...
Due to the number of demo tapes we recieve we are not
able to offer feedback or to respond to recipt of tapes.
We are a very small company, and there are so many musicians
out there! Suffice it to say... if we hear something we
love.... we will call.
8) I am a ClubDJ/RadioDJ/Journalist and would like to
recieve promo service... how do I proceed?
As you can imagine, being a small label, we have very
limited promotional runs of our new releases... we rely
on *sales* to our true fans to keep us in business.
We appreciate the support we recieve from college radio,
press, and club DJ's but there are so many of you and
so few of us! The odds are that we will not be able to
expand service at this time.... but if you want you can
send an info pack attn COLLEGE LIASON or PRESS LIASON.
Please indicate what charts you report to or magazines you
contribute to with sample charts and clips.
We do not send any international promotional copies.
