I still don't see how I made it to work after last nights show. It was off da
hook. They were clicking on all cylinders. I will go over what I remember. My
body is running on generator this morning with only two hours of sleep. The
crowd was really into it from the get go, chanting and singing before the
show like only a CC crowd would. Last night's energy seemed like a weekend
show instead of a Thursday night. Damn. The mob hit the stage a little before
ten and started with "Funkentelechy" then rolled over into "P-Funk", Wants to
get funked up. Greg Boyer made a return on trombone last night and sounded as
if he never left the group. Four horns instead of three and they turned it
out with their individual solos. Scott Taylor is a playin' brother, likewise
Benny C. and Greg T. "Bop Gun" was next with Steve Boyd wailin' as usual.
George made his entrance during the climax of "Cosmic Slop" last night. He
seemed to really be into last night. He even teased us with "Jimmy's Got A
Little Bit Of Bitch In Him", telling Lige "I'm just kidding Lige" because he
was started playing the bassline to it. "Undisco Kidd" was next I think w/
Belita coming out to her "You Do Me" segment. Mike "Kidd Funkadelic" Hampton
was fellin very nicety last night, nuff' said. He was playing around with the
crowd during the show, but it was all good. "Music For Your Mother" was
slammin'. I like the way they did that. I guess the other keyboardists was
Jerome Rodgers standing next to Razor Sharp. That was my first time ever
seeing him and he looked as if he dressed in the dark, but he was strokin'
those keys. He kind of reminds me of John Witherspoon, LOL. I guess I was
feeling too nicety myself. There was a whole lotta freakin' goin' on last
night and I have soaked clothes to prove it. Da honies were 'specially
freakin. Lord. Unfortunately, I had to pull out at around midnight while they
were doing "Knee Deep", so I'm sure Howard, Fathertyme, or Mike Burnette can
add more expertise. Oh, Garry can sing like it's nobody'd business. I always
knew that, but he was testfyin' last night.

    Was that Dennis Chambers

playing at the Reh Hot Mama end of the show last night @ 9:30 Club?

    UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!
    by Robert
Yes that was DENNIS CHAMBERS who took the set on 'Red Hot Moma',hadn't seen
him back there since the 80s.It was amazing. He stepped on that mutha.Rare
    treats for CHOCOLATE CITY again.
Also I think that was Shirley Haden of PARLET fame in the house too,on
backing vocals ,along with Treylewd,Linda Shider,Belita and crew.

    The jumped it off with 'Funkentelechy',as D' said,it was funky.But DAMN!When
they hit 'LET'S TAKE IT TO THE STAGE' it just got so funky in there, you
couldn't nuthin' but move, like Djphl,I was "good time wetter sweat"soaked
from gettin' down.JEROME ROGERS& RAZOR SHARP JOHNSON had me frownin' from all
that funk they had oozin' from those keys!On 'LET'S TAKE IT TO THE
STAGE',man..the horns were in full effect, the P-FUNK HORNS with Greg
Boyer, that's right GREG RETURNED TO PLAY,BENNIE,SCOTT,and GREG THOMAS,and
they blew those horns so funky, while RON WRIGHT kept the foot steady as a
rock,it was as good as the 1976 version,no lie.It went on for at least
20minutes,just 'Let's Take It To The Stage'.That was fukin' me up,but the
straw that broke the camels back was MIKE HAMPTON as Darren alluded too,was
acting crazoid,he got a stoopid ass look on his face..then leaned over and
let loose a vicious ass amount of guitar licks..I looked at his fingers, and
those muthas were movin' like a fast motion movie reel. And he had this spaced
out zombie look on his face.

The entire show was a groove, you couldn't stop gettin' off.Be it
'Pussy','Slingshot' medley,or 'Bop Gun' is was on.
TREYLEWD did his 3XNASTY portion and he rocked that mutha,Tracy got loose and
spit it hard ,with enthusiasm.Garry's son,I think it's GARRET did a smooth
rap with that other cat,George's cuz?'THE FUNK MELLOW TIP' to 'Music For My
Mother 'Medley, which also featured GARRY & BOOGIE doin' some great guitar
work, and BYRD had left the stage, and Mike wasn't really playin' that much at
    the end.
They did the Dog,and George had plenty to say..mutha funkers were all
high..people must've had some good shyt, cause people were buggin' the fuk
out! These dudes kept erupting in the middle of the floor front of the
stage, and causing security, and partiers to get back and wonder what the hell
the problem was. Finally after about the third outbreak ,George said,"I KNOW
YA'LL MUTHAFUKKAS ARE THE POLICE!",he pointed and said,"Ya'll, the police are
tryin' to start somethin' over here, don't go for it,"or somethin' like
that. Then he said,"WE ARE ONE NATION UNDER A MUTHFUKKIN' GROOVE TONIGHT"!

They went into 'Jimmy's Got A Little Bitch In Him' as easy as shoelaces.
    by Robert
George just called it out,and they started playin' it,..then he said,"Just
kidding",and I said "Come on George!"
    It was sounding good.
That goes to show any Prefunkadelick-a-bles that all that shyt about why
    doesn't P-Funk play this or that,is somethin' that's always in effect.The can
play any song,at any given time,..no rehearsals necessary.
