WHAT'S NEW WITH THE DISCO BISCUITS:

THE DISCO BISCUITS are currently recording their next album (for
Hydrophonics/Rykodisc) as a trio in their newly-built home studio in
Philladelphia. The concept of the album is to fuse the melodic elements
of live Biscuits shows with various trance and techno beats.

"As a trio, we're experimenting with new sounds and textures," says
guitarist-vocalist Jon Gutwillig. "We've added new instruments and
effects to the mix so we can create sounds that have not yet been
invented. I think if we can create a sound spectrum that blends fantasy
with reality than we can take improvised electronic music to the next
    level."

Recent shows have seen them stretching the boundaries of
electronic-improv music. In the middle of their eight-hour NYE rave,
they improvised a two-hour, non-stop jam set to the Japanese anime
classic AKIRA, projecting on a screen above the stage. Their ambient
side project--Ah Moshi Moshi--recently appeared at The Knit in NYC
alongside Spacetime Continuum and Carl Craig's Innerzone Orchestra as
part of their Electronic Festival of Composer's and Improviser's.

The band plans on using computers and samplers in additon to their
electronic and acoustic instruments to create a brand new cosmos of
sound on the stage this spring.

PLAN C ARCHIVES, MASTERPIECE A/V AND EYE Q RADIO TEAM UP FOR THE DISCO
    BISCUITS RADIO SPECIAL

On Tuesday, March 14th, from 10PM to 2AM(EST), DJs Scott Langer and
Ethan Schwartz will take their listeners on a journey into the PLAN C
archives for a look back at The Disco Biscuits: "In the Nine Nine". By
heading over to http://www.eyeqradio.com, listeners will have a chance
to hear choice cuts of live Bisco, including material never before
available to the general public. During the broadcast, Eye Q will give
away 300 compilation CDs comprised of this live material with original
liner notes written by some of their biggest fans. The CDs are
courtesey of PLAN C and Masterpiece A/V.

"Most people have a hard time getting CD's of every show or just dont
care about it," says Langer. "This is a rare opportunity to get chosen
selections by some hardcore fans that KNOW by now what is hot and what
is not. Basically, this stuff is on FIRE"

Langer adds: "We have been playing The Disco Biscuits since Day 1.
Playing highlights of a breakout year for a breakout band is something
most FM radio station simply cannot afford to do. Internet Radio allows
us to create our own unique formats such as this broadcast without any
    commercial breaks or time constraints"

"Bisco is all about the fans," says PLAN C archivist Max Dawson. "All
about you guys coming out to the shows, making the long drives,
spreading the word, and giving the love and the support that made 1999
so special and the future so exciting. So, consider this The Disco
Biscuits, PLAN C and Masterpiece's way of thanking you all for making
    the past year so successful."

PLAN C was founded in January, 1999 as a grass roots effort to collect
and archive digital recordings of the performances of the Philadelphia
based band The Disco Biscuits. With its origins in the informal world
of on-line tape collecting and trading, PLAN C has, since its inception,
relied on the efforts of fans to record, collect, and compile a library
of live Biscuits recordings. Founded by fans Mark Regopoulos, Tom
Levine, and Bret Maxwell Dawson, PLAN C provides a service to listeners
around the globe, giving them access to the hundreds of hours of live
materials housed in its Portland, OR headquarters. While PLAN C's
future plans include such projects as the creation of a comprehensive
on-line database of setlists, reviews, photographs, downloadable digital
files, and assorted esoterica devoted to The Disco Biscuit experience,
its heart continues to lie in its original goals of providing free Bisco
    to the world.
