    Hey List,

I have a DCC player, mainly used to play analog
cassette tapes because of it's great sound quality.
The sound quality are similar to that of the Nakamichi
Dragons that ruled the analog cassette world.

Philips manufactured these units for Technics, Marantz
and for themselves. At the time I chose DCC over DAT
or Minidisc because of it's backwards technology
(ability to play analog tapes also).

Philips has since abandoned DCC altogether. I am
actually looking for blank DCCs or pre-recorded tapes.
Please pass along any info you have. I enjoy
recording my CDs to DCC because it has digital and
optical inputs. I can also record in analog also.
The sound is excellent. I guess because of the
superior D/A Converters in the unit as compared to
    moderately priced CD players.

This is one of my favorite pieces of equipment in my
audio system but I can't enjoy it to the fullest
because of lack of blank DCCs. I have some DCCs I
have recorded but I don't want to record over them
because they have some music that's hard to find on
    them.

I know some of you all in Europe are still using DCC
and have better access to blank DCCs than I do here in
    the U.S.

One more thing, there is a way to use regular analog
cassettes to record digitally but they need to be
altered a little. There was an article in What HiFi a
few years back that showed how to alter them. I've
    misplaced this issued.

    Thanks List.

    Boone
