Keyser & Shuriken - newsletter #40: Pigeon Pecked Pretzels

    Newsflash 16.11.2000

    Dear friends,

Last weekend we have played a very early warm up set at Freee magazine's
5th birthday party (www.freeemagazin.hu). This has been the first mag in
Hungary that is dedicated to dance music, so it was fun to represent our
jazz style before the Hungarian superstar djs of house and trance took
over. It was a real monster JBL sound system installed in a big hall for
thousands of people, so we felt like bad kids do when they break in the
candy store and eat all the stuff they never had a chance to taste. I'm
    telling you: it tastes sweeeeeet.

Right now we are preparing for Nu Phusion, an event (at the Trafo art
centre/Budapest on 29.12.2000) where djs (representing the electronic
underground music) meet jazz and contemporary musicians... More details
    later.

Sorry for being brief, but life is not always as exciting or funny as the
Arnold Schwarzenegger movies of the '80s.

Take the good advice of Soulman, the supreme crate digga:

"Another thing visitors like to partake of are the Philly soft pretzels.
But a word of warning: do NOT buy pretzels from guys selling them on the
side of the road! I've seen these cats go in the bushes to piss, then
barehand a pretzel to sell to an unsuspecting motorist! I've seen them
leave their tray of pretzels unattended and pigeons fly down and start
eating on them. Needless to say they still sold those pidgeon pecked
pretzels without hesitation. So when you're in Illadelph just say no to the
    road pretzels."

Amazing site if you're into hip hop, turntablism, rare original breaks
anyway! It's also worth to check out Soulmate's site
    (http://www.worldofbeats.com)

Keep on longing after Illadelph till next week!
