    the list is ambient@hyperreal.org.
you can go to the http://www.hyperreal.org website and there is information
about it... the list discusses everything from chill out music to brian eno
to new 'electronica; or ambient, i also think members of the list put
together compilation cd's of their own music... i've seen discussions about
talvin singh and a whole host of stuff... you can subscribe to either the
digest or join the list. dont know how many members but i've learned a lot
about it. hyperreal.org also hosts the idm (intelligent dance music) list
whatever that is, but at the moment there's a bit of a scenario raging about
the new autechre album, although at times the list can be very informative,
sometimes it is filled with flame wars.. it's very active with over 1000
members - frequently the discuss new abstract hip hop beats, such as prefuse
73 & a group i went out and discovered called cLOUDDEAD, and a guy i went to
see perform in london called Vladislav Delay.. I think the detroit 313 list
runs from hyperreal as well. this website has been going since at least 94
and is a great place to get listings for raves and record shopping around
the states, and sometimes other big festivals around the world... sorry for
the long post, but they're two other lists i get because i learn about lots
of music i dont know anything about ....

i'd like to know if there are any good rap/hip hop/turntablist lists...
does anyone know about any of these?

have seen a posting here with cc:'s to the
    >ambient@hyper...something or
    >something dot com. Does anyone have any feedback as to the vibe of this
    >list aforementioned Ambient list? Give me a holler.
