    OBSERVATIONS & RESEARCH
    -------------------------------------------
    Megashira-Spindrift-Infracom
German drum n' bass pioneers Kabuki and Mainframe team up with west
London's master nu-jazz producer, Mark De-Clive Lowe, to give us
preview from their highly anticipated full length LP. Gathering a
roster of adept studio musicians, including NYC's Bill Ware III
(vibraphonist for Groove Collective), Megashira picks up the funk
driven side of drum n bass where EZ-Rollers and London Electricity
left off. Integrating live intrumentation with the precision sound
quality of current releases, Spindrift sets itself apart with its
attention to detail and the rare interplay between musicians. On the
flip, Germany's highly underrated Phoneheads deliver a dark,
introspective remix that rolls out like some of K's (aka Polar)
recent cuts. If this 12" has anything to show for the forthcoming LP,
its likely to be a masterpiece.
