    Here's how I break mine down (previously posted to another list or I
    wouldn't have the energy to re-type it!):

    * Sleazy Listening/Orchestral Pop/French-German-Italian Soundtracks

    * Breakbeat/Jungle/Trip-hop/Electronica/House/Techno

    * Stuff that would be in the above category, but which has a live
    rhythm section

    * Hip-hop/Turntablism

    * R&B/Soul/Funk/Disco/New Orleans

    * Afrobeat et al

    * Latin (mainly búgalú, latin soul, hard salsa)

    * Latin Rock

    * Brazilian

    * Ska/Rocksteady/Reggae/Dub/Dancehall

    * Miscellaneous "World"

    * Jazz

    * "Classical" (mainly 20th c)

    * Krautrock/Extendo-Psych (but not Psych-Pop)/Prog

    * Rock (includes psych-pop, punk, country, electro-pop, etc.)
