    Dave Haynes (Inspirit Music) - Charts/Newsletter 7.12.01

Charts are a bit late - but for good reason. Big changes to the format of my
newsletter this time round. For the first time you can now listen to the
tracks in my chart. Pretty good, eh?

It's only the first time i've done this but it should work. Just click on
the listen buttons and it should download a Real Audio file. Unfortunately i
can't get them to stream but i'll try and get this sorted for next time
round. The snippets are only 30 seconds long so it shouldn't take to long to
    download anyway.

I would really, really appreciate feedback on this new format. Does it work?
Any changes necessary? Too long to download? Let me know...
This week only 7 snippets and the quality isn't that great 'cos it was done
on my old mixer at home but i hope you enjoy.

Last of all got to give shouts out to Neil @ ammunition. Definitely worth
checking out is their night at the Velvet Rooms, London of a Sunday. Last
time saw Phuturistix and Landslide grace the same decks on the same night.
Unfortunately didn't manage to get down myself but I get the feeling the
night's gonna take 2-step to a whole new level. Big up!

    Anyway, on with the charts.

    Peace - for now.

    1. Karime Kendra – Lovely Brown Skin (Landslide mix) – Score - <http://www.inspiritmusic.com/sounds/charts/landslide.rm> After ‘Down Down’, Landslide is back with another beautiful collaboration with Karine Kendra. Sounding to me like a cross between his own ‘Incurable Voices’ and his relick of Kaidi Tatham’s ‘Betcha’, this track is sure to be another underground stormer.

    2. Artless – 2nd Room / The Chaser (Rocca re-worked) - Schema - <http://www.inspiritmusic.com/sounds/charts/artless.rm> Straight from Italy and with a reworking by DJ Rocca this broken 2-step outing packs a punch while still retaining its atmospheric groove.

    3. Stratospheric – The Movement EP – Tru Method - <http://www.inspiritmusic.com/sounds/charts/stratospheric.rm> First thing I’ve picked up from this label and I’m glad I did. Expecting to head straight to the Venom ‘Vipersquad’ remix the original did it for me just as much with its percussive groove and vocals from ‘Bluey’ Maunick of Incognito. An excellent offering from Tru Method.

    4. Sequel – Upsolid (Domu mix) / Solutions – Straight Ahead - <http://www.inspiritmusic.com/sounds/charts/sequel.rm> When the likes of Domu come together with outfits like Sequel you know the result is going to make a few heads turn. Tight beats, wicked vibe… nuff said. Next year catch Sequel on the remix tip for Inspirit.

    5. V/A - People Make The World Go Round 3 – People Records - <http://www.inspiritmusic.com/sounds/charts/people.rm>

    6. Andy Caldwell – I Can’t Wait – Om Records - <http://www.inspiritmusic.com/sounds/charts/caldwell.rm> After his recent excursion on Naked Music, Andy Caldwell pops up on Om with ‘I Can’t Wait’. The original stands up well with the expected deep house vocals with great production touches but turn to the flip for a more exciting ‘bumpier’ ride. Look out for future productions from Andy here at Inspirit Music!

    7. Nemo – Darkest Day – JCR Both chilled and more uptempo Restless Soul mixes on this 12”. The usual quality offering that you would expect from JCR.

    8. The Rurals – Farmyard Flavours Vol. 2 – Viva Test Absolutely superb offering from the west coast (of the UK that is!). The Rurals come through with delightful deep house grooves, warm basslines and just enough noodles to keep the headz happy. Comes complete with the gorgeous downtempo affair ‘Fallin’.

    9. Various – Nude Dimensions III – Naked Music In my opinion the best Nude Dimensions compilation thus far. “Blending a bit of electro, broken-beat and nu jazz” – the album makes for great listening. Including a dub mix of Nathan Haines’ ‘Earth Is The Place’, Gaelle’s ‘Rain’ and the Weekender mix of ‘Step Into The Light’, this is a definite must for the CD changer.

    10. The Beard – Someday – Phuturistix mix - Inspirit Music - <http://www.inspiritmusic.com/sounds/charts/phuturistix.rm> Still in the charts, and still making quite an impression. Soulful 2-step - taking things to the next level.

    Best of the rest…

4 Hero – Creating Patterns – Talkin Loud Earthbound – Sometimes EP – Straight Ahead The Beard Presents Soul Sista – Only You – Inspirit Music
