RE: 4Hero's 'Les Fleur'Letīs put this into perspective. If, because of 4 Heroīs version of 'Le Fleurs', someone discovered the wonderful world of Minnie Riperton and goes out and searches for 'Come to my garden' and in the way finds Charles Stepney and, why not, the Rotary Connection, 4 Hero have done their job at connecting the dots.

As for the track, I think that 4 Hero intentionally didnīt try and go further with the remix (because thatīs what it is, a remix, not a whole new song). And, although some of you may feel a bit disappointed for not hearing something new done with 'Les Fleurs', the way 4 Hero treated Minnie Riperton and Charles Stepneyīs song is, IMHO, the way any musician should treat a classic. They didnīt disrespect it.

    Cheers,

After all the hype, I was disappointed as well. However, if you bought the single, you did get "9x9" on the B-side, which made the price a little easier to swallow. "Les Fleur" sounds OK in the context of the full album, but in my opinion, there were much better choices for the lead-off single.

        Elson,
After listening to people's massive admiration for the album and 'Les Fleurs' track in particular, I kept my mouth shut. So I'm really glad to hear someone else voice my feelings. 'Les Fleurs' is so ridiculously similar to the original that it's worth is quite lost on me. I've no idea why 4-hero felt it necessary to produce the track at all and needless to say, I passed on buying the single.

I just heard this finally...um, it's not really that much different than the original Minnie Riperton tune. In fact, it's a spitting image of the original. I was expecting to hear this tune in "the classic 4-hero style" but, I dunno, all it just seems to be showing is that they know how to make it sound like the original. Whoopee. Any thoughts...?
