tonight we've got Swingsett guest djing on the show. Swingsett's
released downtempo, electronic, and drum and bass singles with J. Warrin
for their Ism record label, as well as records with DJ Wally. check out
his Testpress Sunday night here in new york at Drinkland for a really
nice night of beats and breaks.

some records doing it for me lately ::: three reissues from "Brass
Records." they're all really, really nice. originally from 1979 and
1980, they've got the disco hip-hop feel going. I saw an original of The
Younger Generation "We Rap More Mellow" on the wall at A1 records
selling for a lot of money, so get the reissue and save your self some
cash. the other two records are The Marvelous Three & The Younger
Generation "Rappin All Over" and Jackie "Small" Cochran's "Summer Fun."
if you're looking for a nice 7" record(other than the Spaceman 7"! hehe)
check out this 7" on Wahwahmoose called Afrotid "Law of the Wild." The
Horne Singers mix is soo nice. really funky, with a bit of that afro
influence. there's a new Danny Breaks record on Droppin' Science with a
track called "Astral Vibes." one side has a drum and bass mix, the other
has a hip-hop mix. nice and jazzy shit with beats that'll make your neck
hurt. also, check out the new record from Beatless feat. Quasimoto and
    Madlib on Ubiquity.

Beats in Space is broadcast every Thursday on 89.1 FM from 10:30pm to
1:00am in the nyc tri-state area.
