    You know...
i probably have already expressed my opinion
    on this...

but as a Jazz musician who has played the North Sea and Montreux Jazz
    festival
    in the early 90's

i have to say that this documentary was sweet.

sure it didnt have enough of YOUR favorite musician.
and sure it left out a whole bunch of people.
and it did go a little overboard on Ellington and Armstrong.

but as a piece of work it was good enough to teach those who know NOTHING
    about Jazz something.

anyways...corporate sponsorship or no coporate sponsorship.
it got done...it's now a tool to teach youngsters about Jazz and hey!
don't worry someone will come a long and do Jazz Part 2 and it'll document
how some kids in LA can perform Brubeck's Take Five(not using the original
    of course)
and how a kid fron Montreal can do melodic solos using vinyl and turntables.
