    Subject: LA activities Jan. 22-29?

    hiya everyone,

Really nice to finally have been able to catch up on all the AJ postings
of late. Some excellent threads...especially enjoying all the
discussions related to the Jazz documentary.

A little request for you LA peeps.... a friend is heading to your city
for the first time, from January 22-29, and is looking desperately for
any suggestions of clubs/DJ's/bands to check out, weekly papers etc. to
look out for, the areas to spend time wandering in etc. (people do walk
'n wander there, right ;-) She's into soulful stuff....house, UKG,
jazz/funk etc. and is way open-minded/eared, just hoping for a little
    direction. Thanks much in advance.
