This was hashed over a bit several weeks ago.
Personally, the album just grew on me ... but I've
always appreciated Franti's work. I find it to be the
most soulful, organic, honest album he's ever put
together. At first, the interludes bothered me, but
after many listens the concept helped ease that
feeling. As far as singing vs. Franti's vocals, I for
one was surprised by the amount of straight singing he
did. Check "soulshine" and "every single soul" or "we
don't mind." For me, Stay Human will always be one of
    my albums of summer 2001.
