My band had the enormous pleasure of opening for her at the Temple Bar in LA last week. Her set was off the hook. There was hardly a break in the music, as the transitions were really smooth and mellow. The samples that they mixed in were perfect...I'm always impressed when a live band can do that effectively. I'd have to say that her album doesn't have the punch her live show did, though.

They had about 4 Triton keyboards and 3 MPC samplers among the 500 pieces of gear on stage. Soundman told me it took 3 hours to soundcheck them!!

Saw Perry Farrell hanging out, my bass player said he spotted Minnie Driver. She definitely has a buzz going. Someone told me she was Frank Sinatra's goddaughter???

I want to second that, she really had it going in Coachella, had the crowd grooving. Her first song finished with around 6 well spaced outros,,,,smooth,,,,, anyone has the info on who plays with her?, the drummer seemed very familiar but I couldn't put together face-name.
      Real energetic live performance.

I was lucky enough to catch Nikka Costa performing at the Roxy in L.A. a few
weeks ago. She was amazing! I haven't heard the whole CD yet, but her live
show was full of raw energy --along the lines of a Lenny Kravitz type of
thing. She's the first artist since Maxwell that's made me really stand up
        and pay attention.
