Nicola Conte - never heard him live, but I heard that he doesnt rock that
    hard as a live DJ.

For a nice uptempo production, which is quite jazzy but can carry itself
on a jazz dancefloor, check out Nicola Conte's Forma2000

For what I think is his greatest production, head straight for 'Bossa por
Due' which was featured once on an Acura commercial.

p.s. shameless self plug: Nicola Conte's Forma 2000 is available on
rhythmlove.com in the online Store, as well as some other Acid Jazz
    classics, new and old.
