Hey everyone. I've been a member of this list since '97 and have come to know and love tons of artists that I first heard about right here. I thought it'd be fun to list the artists that we probably wouldn't have heard about if not for this newsgroup; the best one I belong to by far. I know that I've gotten into loads of great stuff since being a member, so here's some of the bands/Dj's/artists that rock my world, thanx to the recommendations/posts/reviews by all of you:

And, this is just the stuff that I directly heard of first, here on the list. Then, there's tons of other stuff that I listen to now, probably due to the fact that my Acid-Jazz (or whatever) vocabulary has expanded and I often buy stuff that I'm made aware of or hear in the record store for the first time. FAR too numerous to mention, but a few that come to mind are Nitin Sawhney, Talvin Singh, Badmarsh, Shri, Herbaliser Band, Zakir Hussain, State Of Bengal, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Ananda Shankar, Erik Truffaz, Tala Matrix, Squarepusher, Brand New Heavies etc.... In other words, it's been fruitful and enjoyable listening for the last 4 years!!
