    Mostly space and compatibility.
    .RAs are generally smaller than even low-quality MP3s and stream
    better to a broader range of people. Most folks (even on cable/dsl)
    are not so crazy about downloading 100 meg MP3 of a dj set when
    they're able to listen immediately to real audio. Besides, all the
    essential software is free and it requires no special software to
    stream it from anywhere on the web.
