    Dear guys,

The world is all shook up the AJ list is also focusing on
the horrible US events, and it's good in a way, becouse
there is so much trust and understanding in this community.
It's also important to get a close picture of how all this
crazy attacks have affected the everyday life to those who
are on the list from New York and the US. As the Hungarian
television is only re-broadcasting CNN's now increasingly
exploitaiment-like news coverages, we have but little
access to non-over-emotional news that try to calm people
down instead of preparing them to fight a war full-
heartedly. I mean like thoughts of Chomsky...
It is really sad that both the media and the leaders on the
world ignore his point, hence making it possible for anti
US extremists to capitalize on it. I mean here in Hungary
as well, only the extreme right is sharing similar views,
of course not out of cold headedness and rational thinking,
but out of sheer hate for America and Americans.
It's nasty business becouse if official policy ignores
reality, dumb people can fall for the extremist's hate-
    propaganda.

I am really far from saying what they do: "American's
deserved it!". Quite clearly noone deserves to die just
because the US foreign policy at times stays away from
rational and fair solutions. I only say that CNN was not
there in Belgrade when the US has bombed the TV building to
report about personal drama. Sitting with a friend at the
terrace of a cafe near the ruins, my Serbian friend (a
great guy, devoted musician, not at all a Kosovo-Alban
eater type)explained to me how his friend was killed in
that building. Only his hand was found to be put in the
coffin. He was an inocent worker there just like several of
his now dead colleagues, but of course that terrible
afternoon none of the real hard-headed "bad guy TV leaders"
were staying at their offices to be killed...

This is where Chomsky's point comes in the picture: imagine
all these things that CNN forgot to tell you about. Media
is framing reality, and CNN got it all wrong framed
(serving the official US policy). Now that they are playing
emotional strings without giving any balance to the story,
they don't do much for keeping people from race riots.
Peace as we know it is a really fragile thing. They are
    simply not acting responsible.

    War is a terrible thing.

    Gabor Valyi (aka dj Shuriken)
