    Hello again,

No diatribes or contest news this week, just the music and nothing but.....

Jazzy Jeff: "The Magnificent" - A fine return to form with no sign of
the Fresh Prince anywhere. Many guest vocalists including a hilarious
send up of Roy Ayers' "We Live In Brooklyn" featuring the fabulous
Jill Scott. One of the best hip-hop releases this year. Dope.

Blaktroniks: "Seduction At 33 1/3" - Local pressure from Oakland with
an album that defies categorization. Drum & bass, hip-hop, electro,
R&B and a pinch of glitch means something for everybody. I hear the
    live show rocks.

Les Hommes: "Les Hommes" - This trio from East London released their
self-titled album in Europe via Schema earlier this year and now get
a domestic U.S. pressing courtesy of ESL. Authentic bossa beats and
sweet sambas make this the perfect soundtrack for any party where
    cocktails are served (or not).

Gus Gus: "Attention" - The Icelandic band with the wacky names
(President Bongo?) have returned with their third album, this time on
Moonshine. New vocalist 'Earth' smooths out the choppy warblings of
the past and even sounds a little like Annie Lennox. The music too,
is more poppy and catchy than in the past....I now have a sudden urge
to put on the early Eurythmics albums.

Karsh Kale: "Redisign" - The "Realize" album gets the re-rub
treatment by Kale's friends and family, that include DJ Spooky, Ming
& FS, Bill Laswell and others. The result is a mixed bag - many
transcendental moments, but one in particular that borders on the
brutal and obnoxious. Drum & bass biz with an East Asian accent.
    Spicy.

Alex Wilson: "R&B Latino" - Why do I feel guilty listening to this
album? Maybe it's the glossy production and vocals, but the riddims
suck me back in every time. Extremely catchy with some exceptional
    keyboard work from Mr. Wilson.

We'll also feature new 12"s from Greens Keepers, Doctor L, Realside
    and the return of ESG!

Thanks for listening - ciao for now!

    David
