I just got this. I kept overlooking it because I thought it was (and
it probably is) what I call pop electronica like daft punk. I think
what's compelling for me with this album is the lushness of the sound.

This is one of the few albums I've listened to recently where I liked
every single song. In particular, the way esther phillips (one of my
favorite old school vocalists) is sampled in the brilliant song "out
of my hands" is very well done. I usually hate it when they chop up a
real vocalist's song (ie. Dinah Washington etc).

I say all this to say what else out there that is similar, but not
overtly poppy and who is this guy? Air is an obvious connection since
they're french and lush. I like them already. I listened to some
short samples of the Nitin Sawhney (sp?) album, but it didn't move
me. It keeps coming up on this list so I'll probably get it anyway.
