New Year
--------
2001 - what can be said? I guess I'm just glad there was so much awesome
music released last year. Kinda made it bearable... Troublemakers, Henri
Salvador, the Avalanches, 4Hero, Greyboy, Manitoba, Flanger, Bonobo, 4tet,
Llorca, Kid Loco, Poets of Rythm, Prefuse73, Korn (just seeing if you're
paying attention...), Susumu Yokota, James Taylor, Beatless, Up Bustle &
Out, Sebastien Tellier, Air, Yesterday's New Quitet, Squarepusher, King of
Woolworths, Dry and Heavy vs. King Jammy, Sigur Ros, Tom Tyler - to name a
few. A kick-ass year, musically anyway.
Speaking of kicking ass, our evil breakbeat genius, Sinewave (aka Mark
Wiebe), kicked some chart ass in Canada. His debut album "Interplanetary
Ridicule" charted in as the #18 album of 2001 on Canadian College radio
stations, as reported by Earshot - the campus and community radio watchdog
featured monthly in Exclaim! magazine. Not bad.

New Band
--------
2Top Records is stoked to announce the signing of Montreal's live downtempo
drum'n'bass headz 'dB'. dB are drew Malamud and Blake Markle. Every dB
tracks starts by recording real drummers playing real drums. The grooves
are cut up and combined with acidic basslines and atmospheric keyboard
textures. It's really really beautiful, soulful stuff. Check their site @

New Record
----------
We have a new 12" that will be released in mid February. It's the first in
a series entitled '2phur'. This record, Volume I, features two brand new
tracks by Sinewave on one side, and two new dB tracks on the flip. Each
band has designed their own art so the album jacket is two records combined
into one. Check www.twotoprecords.com in the coming days for art, track
listings, and some dope mp3 samples from the record.
