I have been collecting these letters for my own amusement and I have about
21 at this stage. They all have the same basic premise with variations
revolving around the amount of money they intend to "share" with the
people who are lucky enough to try and work with them and also around the
actual mechanism. It is known as the "nigerian" scam and the banks and the
Fed are aware of it but apparently some poor shnooks have been parted from
some of their savings anway. This is the third one I have received
purporting to be from a confidante of Mrs. Abacha, most of them claim to
be representatives of some unfortunate person, usually a middle-aged
Westerner, who was killed in some kind of accident, car or plane crash,
often they are mining engineers because this is supposed to introduce some
sort of believability into the scheme. Exactly what this person hopes to
gain from taking on the entire acid jazz list is quite beyond me, perhaps
he wants some suggestions for the music he will listen to when the
authorities finally catch up with his ass! This is not the first one we
have received on this list either. I suggest he listen to:

1/. The Herbaliser - A Mother(for your mind) one of my favourite
    Herbaliser tracks, very funky!
2/. Grantby - Timber - good music for a car crash
3/. Troublemakers - The whole disc is a kind of soundtrack and it could be
applied to this kind of situation
4/. King Sunny Ade - Synchro System - good fat beats and riddims for West
    African crooks!
5/. Youssou N'Dour and Neneh Cherry - Seven Seconds - The hip-hop version

Anyone else got any suggestions for the good doctor?
