As promised last week, we've got an hour+ of a killer Mr. Scruff set
to play for you Tuesday evening, so be sure and tune in and catch it
live, or next week on one of our many rebroadcasts (URLs and times
    listed below).

Speaking of rebroadcasts: STREAMING OPTIONS HAVE CHANGED!!
Here's the deal: Due mainly to new fees imposed by Live365 to cover
their copyright payments, I have decided to eliminate one of the
streams and have swapped URLs for more efficient storage.

What this means: I will now only rebroadcast the last two weeks'
shows - the most current program will continue to be high-quality
broadband and week #2 will accommodate those of you using a 56K
modem. If you have bookmarked the URLs for quick access, you will
have to change them. Again, check the addresses below.

TICKETS!: This week, Bay Area listeners will have a chance at winning
tickets to hear DJ Ender from Nuspirit Helsinki, along with Andrew
Jervis and Jonah Sharp, spinning Saturday, Aug. 3 at 26 Mix. Winners
will also receive a copy of the Nuspirit Helsinki CD - one of the
best albums of 2002. Next week we'll have tickets to see the
Icelandic quartet Mum, appearing at the Great American Music Hall on
    Aug 10.

Last but not least, you can win tickets to AREA 2 at Shorline
Amphitheater on Wed. Aug 14th. Appearing on the main stage: Moby,
David Bowie, Busta Rhymes, Blue Man Group (!!!) and Ash. Spinning in
the DJ tent: Dieselboy, The Avalanches, DJ Dan, DJ Tiesto, DJ Tim
    Skinner and John Digweed.

    CONTEST RULES:
Write a story consisting of at least 500 words, using the names of
all the acts appearing at AREA 2.
Send your entry to: freefallradio@yahoo.com and include your full
name, e-mail address and phone number. Be sure to include the best
time to reach you, so that the prize patrol can notify winners of
    their good fortune.
Deadline is Friday, August 9 at midnight PT - no late entries will
    be accepted.
Creativity is very important!!! The more imaginative your story, the
better chance you have of winning.
(Thanks to Andrew @ Ubiquity, Keith @ the Great American and Erik @
Clear Channel for providing the goodies.)

The Music: Since Mr. Scruff will be delighting you with his fine
selection of tunes for more than half the program, there's no way
that all of the following new releases will air this evening.
    Nevertheless, they are:

The Future Sound Of London: "The Isness" - If Syd Barrett was making
music in 2002, it might sound something like this. Spaced-out,
psychedelic goodness with just the right amounts of sitar and rock
'n' roll for spice. Their first album in seven years - Killer!

Roots Manuva: "Dub Come Save Me" - I think I like this better than
last year's "Run Come Save Me." Four tracks from the previous release
get the dub treatment and six additional jams make for a very tight
    album. Lean and mean.

V/A: "Fluid Ounce Unmeasured" - If you caught the Zero dB mix we
played earlier in the year, you heard a few of the tracks included
here. Signed to Ubiquity for the U.S., the red-hot Fluid Ounce label
collects all of their awesome 12" singles and makes them available on
a shiny new compact disc. A good reason to drop some dough on a pair
    of Pioneer CDJ-1000s.

V/A: "Belgrade's Burning Vol. 2" - Compiled by Zeljkno Kerleta, this
set of nu-jazz from the Yugoslavian underground features outstanding
musicians you've never heard of giving an Eastern European spin to
samba, house, hip-hop and Latin-style breakbeats. How do you say,
    "dope!" in Croatian?

Giles Peterson: "Worldwide 2 - Programme 2" - Yet another outstanding
compilation from Mr. P, featuring top chunes from the Cinematic
Orchestra, Jazzanova, Seiji and Sun Ra, with exclusives from Dwelle
and Forss. If you can't catch "Worldwide" on your radio or on the
Net, this is the next best thing.

A special thanks to all of you who have called or written with your
questions and comments. I definitely appreciate your support - ciao
    for now!

    David
