June sees http://www.onthecorner.fm reach the wondrous age of one!
and we're going to be celebrating all month with more shows than ever before

First off today there's 3 new shows

    > SHOW 027 is from onthecorner main man GAMALL and is a
MIX FOR ANGELA DAVIS celebrating all things AFRO. In Gamall's mix this means
everything from the ART ENSEMBLE OF CHICAGO and afro-funk to new tracks from
CHATEAU FLIGHT + MANU DIBANGO, KING BRITTs OBA FUNKE PROJECT
    and more

    > SHOW 028 is a guest mix from the mighty JAZZANOVA who are currently rising up
    the
European charts and about the release their album "IN BETWEEN" domestically
    in the US
(on ropeadope records - htttp://www.ropeadope.com) early next month. Their
    mix includes
a few tracks from the album.

    > SHOW 026 is a guest mix from Sweden's rising stars KOOP who will also see
    their
be-bop jazz inspired album "WALTZ FOR KOOP" finally get a US domestic
    release next month
on Quango/ Palm - http://www.quango.com - their mix surprisingly sees
    Magnus (their DJ) delve
    into deep house.

and don't forget to check out
    > SHOW 025 is a guest mix from Ohio's TITONTON whose been causing waves
    internationally
with his DJ sets (check how he applies hip-hop techniques to broken beat)
    and non stop release
schedule of 12"s. This mix was recorded live in Miami at the BUGS IN THE
    ATTIC party. Check his
    site http://www,titonton.com for extensive info.

Regular onthecorner listeners will also be happy to know that we've finally
made it a lot clearer what
shows are live and what shows are offline. We're sorry that we can't keep
all the shows live all the time
but there's simply too many of you users for us to keep up. If you're
bugging to hear a show that is offline
we recommend you send an email to whatsup@onthecorner.fm and let us know
    what show you want
to check out. When a lot of you request a show we'll make it live again for
    a brief while and include
news of this in this newsletter.

Now to the really heavy subject, if you're in Europe or outside of America
    this won't really concern
you but if you're living in these united states then it's time for you to
get active. The US government is
trying to take away internet radio. The RIAA is trying to collect insanely
    high royalties from Internet radio
stations (more than 200% of their current revenues!) using the argument that
"Internet radio airplay hurts CD sales."
Basically by the end of June internet radio could cease to exist.

Go to http://www.saveinternetradio.org and read up on this - this site also
has a great link we're you
can send a fax directly from their site to 3 members of congress. We
    urgently urge all US based
listeners of onthecorner to get involved and protest and contact their
member of congress. Seize the time.
    The time is now.

Along this line we are also calling out to our friends overseas to see if
    anyone would like to take
over hosting onthecorner on their server, since we reckon the only way the
    US government can implement
this crazy new law is to base it on where your server is physically located.
Get in touch with Gamall at
gamall@onthecorner.fm if you'd like to discuss this.

Finally stay tuned, there's a lot of nice surprises coming this month.

Labels who want to have an artist featured on the site should contact
    gamall@backspinpromo.com
Manufacturers, record labels and individuals who want to sponsor
    onthecorner.fm shows can ask
for a sponsorship kit from sponsorship@onthecorner.fm
