I'm not feeing particularly verbose this evening, so I'll mention in brief:
Peace Orchestra: "Reset" - absolutely stunning collection of remixes
re-interpreting Peter Kruder's album of three years ago. Contributors
include Gotan Project, Beanfield, Zero dB, Truby Trio, Soul Patrol
and others. Peter Kruder returns the favor on the new Gotan Project
12", "Triptico," along with "El Capitalismo Foraneo" reworked not
once, but twice by Antipop Consortium. ....."The Wicked Is Music" is
the second full-length (!) from Crazy Penis who plunge deep into the
inner reaches of funk, jazz soul and disco. Sexy stuff - mos
def......Brazil's batcuada collective Grupo Batique gets the re-rub
on "Rhythmix: Reluque Batique," featuring many of the usual suspects:
4 Hero, MAW, Zero dB, Fauna Flash, Oslunlade.....you get the idea.
Good stuff - every 1's a winner (baby, that's no lie).....New singles
from Maddslinky, Recloose, Terranova and Sun Ra, greasy funk from
Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings and left-field jazzy beats from Japanese
duo, Su-Paka-Pooh will all no doubt, compete for airtime.
