    I just wanted to add that the output of headphones can be used however
    you have to be very careful.
    normally on many units headphone jacks send out a "hotter" (+10db in some
    cases)
    signal that when sent to another units input will distort unless padded.

    i guess it's better put like this.
    only use headphone jacks as outputs when you can control your input source
    level
    and or the headphone output level.

    otherwise you might get a distorted signal.
