Some mad talented peoples that go by code name Stop Die Resuscitate will be coming through the CHRY studios to play us some hot new ish and . If you like your music with snatches of hip hop, synth-heavy electronics, and songwriting and vocalizations that take you to the 80s - that's 2080 - this is something you NEED to check. Lyle Crilly gets busy with the knobs and faders, while coolhandLuke & Dukes Onukes get down on the
M-I-C. Each of their separate extensive histories are steeped deep in the music game already. Crilly has worked on country fried rock fare with thousand sticks and tweaky glitch techno with Lemonjade, and most recently performed alongside Monoloke at this year's MUTEK festival. coolhandLuke's been a mainstay fixture on the performance rap stage, working with his band Fearless Vampire Killers and also guesting on tracks, most recently on 'Yesterday's Beginning' by Moonstarr and John Kong on Do Right!'s 'On the Right Track' compilation. Dukes Onukes aka Scotchydeez is a self-professed hooks and bridge master for New York's independent hip hop scene since 1997, working with everyone from Jean Grae and Mr. Lif, to Mr. Complex and most recently Apani B.Fly. She's also gets busy with her band Bank Machine.

Stop Die Resuscitate gets nice next Wed Aug 20th at Raise the Rent, the very excellent monthly showcase of top-notch independent artists. Also performing that night will be incredible local MC Kamau, , with DJ Serious and Murr on the decks for some hot choon action. Say hi to Rose hosting and holding it all down! Going down at Kathedral (651 Queen St. W, right at Bathurst). $5 or PWYC, with proceeds going towards the featured performers' upcoming music projects and also to charity.
Also check em next Thursday night (Aug 21st) at the incredible Style in Progress event taking over Toronto. They'll be on stage at 7 PM sharp at Dundas Square, right at the corner of Dundas and Yonge. Free and dope. More on that event on next week's show!
