    :::TONIGHT:::

    So what can I say...man oh man...

    Wednesday August 27th, 2003 is gonna be my last show as a regular host on Best Kept Secret. I really never thought that I'd be saying those words anytime soon...damn. My apartment's slowly folding itself into boxes, and the truck's getting a suspension check for the long haul east on the 401. Heading there to class once again after hiatus, where it's all about mastering the studies. Yes, back to sleep-in mornings and daily late night drinks!

    Dalia will continue to run things on Best Kept, and keep bringing the sounds of people creating and living their passion. Not only is she deathly talented and incredibly hilarious, Dal's my sistren from another mother. She's the first girl I met that knew her shit when it came to music. We bonded through hiphop...I remember talking to her about Diamond D and Kool G Rap records when we met at CHRY after a record sale! I knew she would be a great friend. This girl fuggin ROCKS!

    :::So here's the plan:::

    We're bringing the BEST KEPT SECRET LIVE-TO-AIR PARTY fresh from the CHRY studios. Everyone is invited. Bring some records, drop a freestyle, bring instruments, and/or sing your ass off. If you drive, get on the Allen Expressway by heading west on Eglinton or Lawrence. Take it north as it becomes Dufferin, make a left when you hit Finch, make a right onto Keele, and ride that road til a big double left turn lane to get onto York U campus. Turn left. Make a right at the stopsign and park either at the structure or at the open lot. York Lanes is in front of you; the Student Center is to the right. Head there.

    If you take transit from downtown, get to Downsview Station and take the 96 Downsview to York. From the east end, get to Finch Station and take the 60 Steeles Ave. W to York. Buses dropped you off right at the Student Center.

    CHRY on the 4th floor, Room 413. REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEACH!

    We will be having some 'light refreshments' (*ahem*) during and after the show . Chances look good for a karaoke session downtown afterwards, so if you can't make it uptown, give us a ring in the studio 416-736-5656.

    :::PARTY PARTY PARTY:::

    What a weekend! Our 'In One Ear, Out the Other' 9th anniversary jam went off beautifully last Saturday night. We knew it was gonna be good, but this blew us away. Much much love and respect to everyone who came out to celebrate! Pure magic on the stage all night long!

    Andrew Masuda with the dope-as-f**k rock tunes and that tearjerking speech at the end...killing us every time! Lady K and EGR with the live graf action...you ladies are an absolute inspiration! Mad love to EGR for the custom-made piece for the new abode. Love it!
    The DooWops, getting everyone on the floor laughing til they cried...still giggling over Crazy Bush!
    Sunny D, stunning em all with that mic control! This is your year, girl!
    Eternia, no microphone is safe from the wrath of your intellect! On your way to world domination!
    Masia One, absolute elegance, confidence, and clever wordplay every time! Unbelievable talent, girl!
    Vandal and Kwame...you guys are too too hype! Pure energy on the crowd control!
    Ms. Mighty and Maehem of Shebang!, rocking the dancefloor right! You ladies OWN that shit!
    More or Les, a double threat on the mic and decks! Thanks for bringing it too too nice!
    Onastic, crafting the beautiful technolectro sounds...what a voice this one has! You rock, girl!
    Zoe and Rose, two of the most talented vocalists in this city! You ladies singing together was too incredible! Glad I witnessed that. Zoe on the drum action too...whaaaaaat!
    Rahim, working the door with such finesse! Killed it onstage with a piece! Take care of that foot, guy :)
    Dalia with the choice selections that got everyone's ass moving and shaking in there, got the MCs up on it, AND gave Shebang! what they needed for the floor. You absolutely inspire me to no end, lady!
    Love out to Chocolate and MelBoogie who couldn't reach...you ladies were there in spirit!

    And a big thanks to everyone who came to fill up the dancefloor, laugh, and show love to all the performers. Thanks for putting up with my slight drunk&disorderly conduct onstage as emcee for the night. We love you all! Big thanks out to Lank One, Corrine, Sabs, Holls, Andrew, and Rose for all the help making the night happen. We owe you lots of beer (Corrine might prefer straight liquour).
