erm... Am I the only who sin't diggin' phrenology? "things fall appart" was mighty. This one just sounds a bit bland at times, and I fail to see where the deepness lies...

Gilles played a track that started off like the sound of a heart beat. Then increasing it's speed further and further until a whole lotta instruments joined in. I seem to remember he identified it as the roots (in fact I bouht the whole album for that one tune, and it wasn't there). What the hell was that???

    cheers,

    james

I am really looking for a copy of Jessica Lauren's "The Name of Fela Will
Always Stand for Fela..." That is sweetness!

Does anybody know where I can find a copy, or on what format and where it
    appeared initally?

    n.p;
the roots, phrenology (DAMN! BEST YET!). lots of variety... great songs...
very deep. unbelievable that "things fall apart" could even be improved on,
    but....
the thelonious monk quartet LIVE at the 5 spot... hellish sound quality,
    heavenly saxophone!
roy davis jr... gabriel... still a hot track! heard peven everett's solo
version, w. piano? genius! soulful! and donnie is for REAL, so says sage mga
windman LOUIS TAYLOR, who is on the record.

ps LA... thanx to all who came to friday's show! damn, playing in front of
300 people in a jam packed club with a hot sound system is the ultimate
thrill for ALL musicians and singers!

band alert! NATUREZ DEZIGN, a really FUN, SUPER TIGHT, BADASS hiphop band...
very JAZZY! with a classic, but MODERN style that stands right there with
any other band! and HIGH ENERGY ALL THE WAY! go SEE 'em soon @ the temple
bar, where they are appearing often.

to those i promised cd'! they will be out this week, i promise. sorry for
the delay. but it will be cute and fun, like us.

the recording business reports drop in sales of 8%! down from last year's
drop of 2%! oh no... what's a musician to do... except to make money playing
HOT LIVE JAZZ music in a club... there is no substitute, the people are
starving for it, and its NOT THE MUSICIAN's fault that sales are down!
