mga is BACK from another brief hiatus with a full schedule of gigs, special
events, and the like, all around and about the LA area;
first, mga brings live jazz breaks, deep house, and nu soul to "pure.love"
at joseph's, next tuesday, july 15. $5 before 10, $8 after. (joseph's is in
hollywood on ivar near franklin); this is 10 pieces of live jazz in a room
that fits about 40... isn't that the way it's supposed to be? but on the
real, "pure.love" is the tuesday nite spoken word destination, featuring
regular performances from sekou the misfit, bridget gray, jennifer johns,
and the like.
next up, mga will be presenting a "summer soul series" at the fabulous
temple bar every monday in august. mark your calendars, as we're going to be
bringing in a very special guest each week to perform w. the band. we are
talking the cream of l.a.'s jazz and soul scene, artists that have blown up
on the international stage as well...
