I visited that area last year, there's lots of cool things to see
and do. I also managed to find some nice record stores.
Montpellier was the most interesting in my opinion, found some
good stuff in (new vinyl and cd) Black'n Blue, Pinguins and Obsolete.
Cosmic Groove has lot's of old jazz/funk vinyl, but is pretty expensive
and O'CD is good for 2nd hand cd's.
Marseille is also a nice city to visit, not too far from where you're
going. Wax Records and Smart Import where nice for new vinyl.
I've added my complete list of shops below. Don't trust it blindly
though, it's info I gathered from several websites. I didn't visit
many of them because of lack of time, so they might not exist
anymore/at all.
Not really sure about artists/clubs though, maybe try to find some
flyers or talk to people in the shops ...
