    alright ... I'll play along:

Z-Trip - The Anti-War Mix Live At The Rootdown (02-27-03) --- the war is not over ... 100 Iraqis killed in the past week alone. 'trip gets militant.

Sunshine Anderson - Heard It All Before (Quantic Soul Orchestra remix) -- never really liked sunshine anderson's album but in the hands of quantic, this joint is massive!

Acoustic Dub Messengers - s/t -- don't know much about these cats, other than they're a quintet from Japan. smooth jazzy rhythms.

Bobbito - Vinyl Exams -- not new but new to me. picked it up in a used bin. put out on epic about three years ago. bobbito takes a journey through old hip hip, ala trecherous three, schooly d, etc. etc.

Alex Delano feat. Robert Manos - Round and Round (Metro Area remix) -- cheeky 80s electro synths meets house. for some reason it reminds me of "cool it now" by new edition. must be my childhood rearing its head. perfect for summer dancefloors.

Duptribe - s/t EP -- I know nothing about these guys but this stuff is fantastic. dubby dancehall inflected with breaks. super sense of space and timing on it all. the sound of hot, hazy days.

El Michels Affair - Easy Access Pts. 1 & 2 -- when you want the funk, what a better 12-inch than this slab of wax on Soul Fire. a monsterous jam. dancefloor destroyer for sure.

Joe Claussell and Jephte Guillaume - Koloke (West African Guitar Groove) -- the spiritual life label is just got it goin on lately. this guitar-laden cut has you shakin and coolin all at once.

International Pony - We Love Music -- now, I'll say outright that this whole album is not great. but where its good is on the hip hop influenced, break beat tracks that mix with vocoder and synth madness. german ponies get busy.

Fort Knox Foundations EP -- gotta give props to christina and the citrona crew for repping this ep for months ... and they weren't lyin. hot new music from thunderball under a number of aliases. gotta love it.
