On June 1st 2003, Lars Behrenroth and Constantin Groll will broadcast
the 100th issue of their radio show Global House Connection via the
internet from their living room in St.Pauli, Hamburg-Germany into the
    world.

Music and the world wide web were the catalysts for the initial
    connection of the two hosts.
Lars Behrenroth was a DJ in Hamburg, radio host on Evosonic and a
producer under the name BOC Productions. Constantin Groll on the
other hand was still studying in the southern city of Passau and
considered building his future on his passion for music and DJing
when they both met on the now legendary emailing list called Global
House. This worldwide connection of house music lovers has initiated a
multitude of alliances. Lars, for example, had toured several times
through cities and clubs all over the world with the help of some
members of this online community. Therefore, it was in the spirit of
this kinship when Lars offered to work with Constantin if he were to
ever move to Hamburg. Interestingly enough Constantin started working
for the Hamburg based music distributor PP Sales soon after.

By December 1998, they began their show on the first German live
internet radio station named Cyberradio where Lars took
responsibility in programming the evening and late night slots. As a
tribute to the meanwhile inactive email list, Global House, that
rooted the show into being, they named it "Global House Connection".
Originally planned as a weekly mixshow, Saturdays from 8pm till
midnight, the first issue was an extended session that flowed clear
into the dawn. This tag team DJ marathon became a regular part of the
weekly concept and they went as long as their feet would carry them
through all the different fields of House Music. The generous
timetable allowed Lars and Constantin to invite other DJs who were
performing in Hamburg including Frankie Valentine, Leroy Smith,
Groove Armada, the Straight Ahead DJ's with Nos (Hidden Agenda)
amongst others to play with them on the show. One year and about 50
shows later, they parted with Cyberradio, taking a temporary break
from Global House Connection and concentrated on club gigs.

Lars and Constantin were living as roommates when an old Evosonic
contact allowed Lars to think about a new and independent show
concept. Consequently, as of May13th, 2001, they started
broadcasting the new edition of Global House Connection every Sunday
evening from 8pm to 10pm directly out of their 'music living room'
via the live web station cosmium.net. Only two weeks later, the show
was syndicated on the awarded Sarajevo FM station "Radio 3". They
also offered their shows, which now included Hip-Hop, Jazz, Soul and
many other styles for download and stream-on-demand on their website
http://globalhouseconnection.com. With the help of friends and
faithful listeners a database and a messageboard were installed.

Sadly, Radio3 lost its frequencies in December 2002 and Cosmium
switched from live to only archived programs. However, the Canadian
based Poundhouse crew jumped in since they had just started a live
concept with housemusique.com and would soon merge with
flaresound.com to become netmusique.com. That's where Global House
Connection can still be heard live world wide on Sundays from 8pm to
10pm CET as well as syndicated on the US nationwide XM Radio channel
"The Move " and the Italian station "Radio Luna" which can be
received in the whole Abruzzi region.

As the messageboards and statistics clearly indicate there are
listeners and advocates of the show from all parts of the world.
Right now the US leads the list before Japan and Germany, Slovak
Republic, Italy, Poland, France, UK, Switzerland, Netherlands and so
    on.

The show still sports guest mixes by personal favorites like John
Kong, Patrick Forge, Phil Asher, DJ MKL, Code9, Leroy Smith, John
Arnold, Gilb'R and Slope. The near future puts Justin Chapman, Ben
Mitchell, Russ Dewbury, DJ Cosmo, Painč and many others on the shows
    schedule.

As a special, the upcoming 100th show will be extended to three hours
and Lars and Constantin will play their favorites of the past 99
shows. Check http://globalhouseconnection.com for your local show
times, archived past shows, playlists, messagboards and all other
    information.
