    the last episode of British Jazz history show on bbc 4 had some interesting takes on its origins- Giles Peterson basically said they invented the term to mess with a media obsessed with 'Acid house' explosion (1988). good footage of Paul Murphys electric ballroom nights and petersons and forges dingwalls sessions. Should be available to view on bbc site-

        Hi,
             I'm writing an essay on acid jazz, as part of my music performance degree, and i was wondering if anyone had any vital or interesting information about acid jazz? Not just the label, but the genre of acid. The focus of the essay is on the social, political and culteral factors and contributed to the becoming of this ganre of music.
