I was reaching into the bowels of my cd collection when I came across
The Pacific Jazz Alliance -An Acid Jazz Collective: Cool Struttin', and
I thought to myself, "Now, why don't I ever listen to this one?" So I
gave it a spin and now I no why I'd forgotten about it, but why haven't
I sold it yet? The only track I could get into was _No Brain_ cuz I
like the line: I can't explain why inside your fat head there is no
brain. Now, who couldn't groove to a line like that? Anyone hear of
these guys and have something else to say?

btw -- Thanks for all the info on Spiritual Vibes, Takemura etc. and I
did go check out some very *cool* web sites. Think I'll have to look
for a copy of Child's View also.

btw ii -- Never thought of Portishead as AJ. Put Dummy on and tried to
listen to it in a whole new way, but had to stretch a little to get an
AJ feel from it. Maybe it is the sound of Beth's voice, which I do
love, that makes me think of Portishead as more mainstream than AJ.
Can someone explain what I am overlookin' here? Lori
