Re: Beatles and Acid Jazz?!

The beatles have been a standard band for jazz musicians to cover since they
arrived on the scene. Even as they were peaking in the 60s jazz/EZ and latin
musicains were already releasing covers of their tunes. For instance; Sergio
Mendez and Brasil 66, Ramsey Lewis, Bud Shank, Gary McFarland and on and on. A
look at many of the Verve records I have from the time would suggest it was a
prerequisite for getting a deal or something. Like the beatles themselves or
not, but they wrote damn catchy tunes.
