A couple of additions to the growing list... I've got an old Ivan
Boogaloo Joe Jones
lp called Black Whip (prestige) that has interpretation of "My Love" wait a
second, maybe thats just Mccartney and Wings. Anyhow, Booker T and the MGs
have a few on the Stax
LP "The Booker T Set" ie "Michelle" and "Lady Madonna". I'm pretty sure
Herbie Mann
has a few covers out there as well. IMHO one of the coolest samples of the
beatles
is on the Beasties' "the sounds of science" (off Pauls Boutique) where they
cut up the two chord riff from "The End" (Abbey Road) Anybody else remember
that? Fuckin' brilliant.
