I just heard on the radio that the Cool Sessions volume 2 are out, and
what is nice about it is that apparently Jimmy Jay did the same as for
the vol. 1, that is he took some not-so-famous rappers instead of
taking the same as in the vol. 1 and do a remake. I can't tell you the
line-up, the only thing I remember is that there are two guys of
Democrates D doing a tune. Meanwhile some of the people on Cool
Sessions vol. 1 have had an LP out and a reasonable success (Menelik,
S.L.E.O....).
What else in Paris?... well, the town is going crazy about salsa and
latin rythms, with salsa bands growing everywhere, and stars giving
concerts (we had Ray Barreto a few weeks ago, we'll have Joe Cuba),
and Radio Latina is taking a bit of the place of Radio Nova.
Ah yes, and I wanted to say that my Big Cheese www page is taking more
and more the form of an advertising thing, I hope you don't mind too
much about it. The reason is that they were very enthusiastic about it
at Big Cheese (one could have guessed it), so they sent me a lot of
informations, so why don't put them on the net... am I right doing so?
Anyway I think the important things are there (fax/adress, discog.
references), so it should be useful for those who care. And for the
moment the page (http://cermics.enpc.fr/~dh/fromage/big_cheese.html)
is disabled, it'll be available probably on monday.
