--- Quick note: In the earlier Q&A about Mephisto Oddysey's "Dream of
Black Dahlia" I forgot to add that it's been available since '94 on
Twitch Records (vinyl #15, CD #10) in what I think is a better mix than
the City of Angels one... I'd forgotten about this one.

--- And for those of you who pay attention on other lists, has there
been any sightings of the Chemical Brothers' "Exit Planet Dust" yet?
Anxiously awaiting... For that matter, anyone have a Dust/Chem discog
they can forward me? It's sorta offtopic, I know...

--- Now, on to the meat. For Howie B/TKO fans:

I remember hearing a little while back about a 12" promo with 3
(re)mixes by Howie B and friends. This weekend I picked up a
full-length release on Pussyfoot which includes all 3 tracks as well as
some other previous Pussyfoot releases. It's called "Best Foot
Forward" and features Howie B both as artist and remixer, a few other
groups (including Kudo) and spacey artwork by Tosh. Though it looks
like there are a lot of different groups listed on the sleeve, it's
actually a pretty in-bred group: Howie B collaborates with Pussyfoot
artists Naked Funk as "Daddy Longlegs" and also is in "Jenny Devivo";
he's also dragged along Luke Gordon("Fat") under _three_ different
names! It's not a bad thing, though - this means you're guaranteed to
be served up a consistent batch of fresh HowieB space synth grooves.
For those not familiar with Howie's work, his stuff tends to be fairly
mellow, and not all that "jazzy"... sort of synth/sample trance hop.
[See, I didn't use THAT word.]

Here's a tracklist... (* on the Pussyfoot 004 12")
Howie B "Birth"
Daddy Longlegs "The Fourth Way"
* No Apology "Scenario"
* Sie & N:M Ratio "Deep Blue"
Kensuke Shiina "Insomniac"
Spacer "Fizzy Flesh"
Howie B "Breathe In"
Jenny Devivo "Love Is All I Live For"
Daddy Longlegs "The Intuitionists"
Fat "Dew In June"
Naked Funk "Husband To Be Present"
* Howie B "Groove Hard Sex"

I know that at some of these are also previous Pussyfoot releases, on
003 and 002. Others are on Wall of Sound, 2Kool, Planet Records, etc
compilations. (So are _any_ of these new? Or is the 004 12" the
latest 3 songs?) In any case, the collection is superb if you've
enjoyed previous Pussyfoot releases, and it's also a good way to catch
up on stuff you've missed. Highly recommended.
